The Art of Shopping for African Masks and Other Bargain Shopping Secrets

Okay, I admit it. I love to shop. I’m not obsessed, (pretty sure I’m not.  Hey, I pay off all my bills each month.) For me, one of the true joys of travel is shopping. I love to peruse the local markets and search for African sculptures, ethnic clothing, African jewelry. I adore finding the perfect little something for friends and family back home.  And yes, I classify good natured bargaining with local merchants as fun – plain and simple.

As keeping to a budget extends our ability to see new places, I won’t usually be weighing in on how large a diamond to buy in South Africa. But, keep watching this space.
