Here are some of our favorite bucket list restaurants, chosen for overall ambiance, quality, setting, service and just overall experience, regardless of cuisine or country. This is an early work in progress, as Elaine and Derek are not yet in agreement after the first 3. So watch this space for the top 10 when we agree on it, plus reviews of why we love them.

We’ll also post some of our thoughts about restaurants that should be bucket-list worthy but aren’t, in our opinion, in due course.

Meanwhile, here are our first choices:
